Wordpress web design / development SEO

Simple weather related WP site, w/ crisp, eyecatching design. Homepage to fit screen (i.e. no need to scroll), including title and header, a brief introduction and a 4x3 grid of buttons (one for each month of the year). The button's will link to separate (however identical in design) pages; each page will contain a list of around 10 results (all pre determined by myself), some data on the results and possibly some graphics to correspond with the results. The website will rely heavily on SEO, and as such I have come to believe it would be best for the additional pages to be blog entrances (please correct me/come up with alternative ideas if I'm wrong); however these entrances wouldn't be visible on the homepage and only accessible from the gird of buttons/possibly a drop down menu on each page. To maintain relavance the pages/blog entrances would be updated/reentered by myself when needed and need to be linked back to relavent page.
