Title:Web design (Wordpress)

Job Description

We are looking for someone to a develop a branding concept plus logo and build around a wordpress blog. We have specific navigation design in mind, and a couple of specific plugins/widgets (including form for email collection) that we need added and modified in a consistent way with the branding. But the blog will have a fairly simple architecture.

We will first require mock ups of logo, home page, about us page, and blog post to be agreed first, before website is constructed on a development server and then transferred to our host server and url.

We do have not have a wordpress theme in mind to be modified, but we can point you to an example site that has a similar feel and functionality to what we are looking for.

Hi Lucy,

Is there a particular reason for using Wordpress? Would you consider a custom CMS solution which would be more flexible for any type of design and functionality?

Best regards

You don't need Wordpress for good or even easier SEO results (IMO)

Hi Lucy,

Extremely interested and would appreciate if you could provide the following:-

1. Do you require the Logo design just for the website/Blog or also for print material?
2. Can I just confirm you want a ‘Home’ and ‘About Us’ page and a Blog?
3. Do you require a single theme across all three pages or a different theme for each page?
4. Could you elaborate on the Blog structure?
5. Would you be providing all content (text and images)?
6. If using Wordpress would you require :-
a. us to set up user access and permissions?
b. any training or training material?
c. ongoing support?
7. Would you want us to develop the website on our development server and when signed off transfer to your server?
8. Would you consider purchasing one of our Web Management packages, which includes hosting of website and emails, ongoing support?

Regards
SteveB

3. Just a Facebook Like (widget?).
4. We have name and colour scheme, but want ideas on the logo and the overall branding look of the site (we will explain the business and give an example of site we like).

Dear Lucy,

May i see your example site which you would like to replicate?

Thanks
E. H.E. H. on 04/02/2012 06:09
@L.S., Yes you are very right but there are a growing number of people who are used to using wordpress. But for someone to custom code a CMS for this site would not be a difficult task at all. It might be something for the OP to consider as she may get more from a custom script in terms of SEO and any custom widgets.
