J. H. on 26/10/2009 21:11Hi Michael,
I would be very interested in bidding for this project, I would just like a bit more information. Will it be a separate brochure for each of the countries listed or same design, just different text? And also, the previous versions you have attached, would you want to stick to that design or prefer something new?
Thanks
Julie
K. A. on 27/10/2009 02:17Hi Michael,
Do you need 5 brochures (1x for each country)?
Regards
M. G. on 27/10/2009 02:38To allow you to prepare your bid I have attached the brochures we currently use. We would like a generic brochure with 5 seperate country inserts/addendums we could use. Can I email the brochures we currently use?
A. P. on 27/10/2009 11:23Hi Michael
Is your business based in the UK?

Alistair
M. G. on 27/10/2009 18:06Business in UK, all text in English.
Circa 24 pages for total brochure
M. G. on 27/10/2009 18:18new format would be great but retaining our mpg logo
M. R. on 28/10/2009 07:30Hi Michael,
It sounds like a project I would be interested in working on. What file format do you require the final artwork in? When is your deadline for having the finished brochure?
Regards,
Martin
R. E. on 28/10/2009 08:17Hi, Please could you clarify whether this is a single brochure to cover all the areas listed? I see you\'ve mentioned an insert for each country. Would you therefore require a wallet at the back to keep this inside?
What size will you require and will you require these supplied printed or just finished artwork. If artwork, in what format - I would suggest high resolution print-ready PDFs.
Are you supplying copy and images? Will the images be high resolution and supplied as 300dpi JPEGs or will they require sourcing?
I\'m very interested in handling this project for you but really do require this information in order to provide an accurate quote.
many thanks,
Rich
M. G. on 28/10/2009 09:00I am open to ideas on how to deal with the insert. We are looking at the first 12 pages of the brochure being generic and the next 12 being Country specific, but all in English. A4 brochure is fine, we have most of the copy and some of the images. We will need these to be able to be printed and emailed as PDF. I am not sure what format printers need to work with.
M. O. on 28/10/2009 10:43Hi Michael
First can I congratulate you on being a rarity on PPH! At last a project posted here with a realistic budget - so many other buyers seem to have no idea whatsoever in costings for projects such as these.
I would very much like to work on the brochure for you, but I am having difficulty in opening the second file, I assume showing the stuff you have had done in the past. However, from what I can tell, you want a single 24 page brochure designing in full colour with copy and images already supplied.
On this basis I have quoted for the project and look forward to working with you if successful.
Kind regards
Martin
T. M. on 28/10/2009 14:23Hi Michael, I have just bid on this project, the attachment that I mention in my bid did not come through as it was over 500kb (even though it says on the bid page you can attach up to 1meg). The attachment can be found in my profile should my bid be of interest.
M. G. on 28/10/2009 21:29Dear All.
We are frankly overwhelmed with the response we have had to my request for bids. We have now had over 40 bids and are getting more and more each day.
A number of bidders have approached us offering to send us cover pages or sample pages of how they see our brochure ending up and are sending us their examples.
To keep the selection process fair and even we feel it best to let all bidders know.
Regards Michael
S. S. on 29/10/2009 09:43Michael,
Congratulations on being such a fair client by letting us know that people are sending design proposals to you. I will now join them.
Message to Martin - you can download a programme from Microsoft to open Office 2007 files if you don't have that version. I did this an it worked fine - but it might not be available on Mac - fortunately I have both Mac and PC.

T. N. on 30/10/2009 16:43Hello Michael,
Unfortunately due to time restraints and the fact you already have 50+ bids, most probably from some high quality designers, I will be unable to bid this time.
Having said that I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for being so honest and realistic about your project.
Kind regards,
Tasneem
L. C. on 02/11/2009 12:58Hi Michael,
Just wanted to echo Tasneems message, I wish I had seen this post earlier, I had become disillusioned with people per hour, to be honest I still am, I feel its killing freelancing and milking the skills of so many talented people.
I congratulate you on providing a good brief, a realistic budget and openness in the bidding process.
I'm sure you will find the right person for the Job and thank you for valuing their skills.
Good Luck!
