Having studied Accountancy and Hotel & Catering Mgt, I worked in all areas of Hotels, before taking a positino as Stores Manager and Stock Controller in a 5 star hotel. From there I worked on the implementation and training project for SAP to be rolled out accross the group of hotels. I then took up the position as SAP Co-Ordinator and Group Purchasing Trainer for the hotels. This then lead to a position as Assistant Group Purchasing Manager for 31 Hotels in Ireland, UK and Prague. During my career, I took a leave of absence to work in Ethiopia in a voluntary capacity, where I worked on many projects there including feeding programmes, teaching English, Hotel Training, Writing a curriculum for a Hotel Mgt Course which has been recognised by the Ethiopian Govt as a National Diploma Course. On return from my 1st trip to Ethiopia, I was involved in the set up of a Charity VLM, which now sends up to 80 people oversees annually to work as volunteers and was President of the Charity until 3 years ago. I also set on a Board of Directors for a Charity Shop in Ireland.
I have also completed a Dip in Purchasing and Logistical Mgt
Hobbies include, horse riding, golf, tennis and swimming.
