I'm a professional software developer with 25 years of experience based in Scotland but working for clients all over the UK and further afield. I've been freelancing full-time for over 12 years.

I provide software consultancy, design, and development services with a particular emphasis on database, graphics and geographic applications. I work on web, mobile and desktop applications.

I place strong emphasis on communication, and pride myself in being able to explain technical concepts and choices to my clients in straightforward English. Trends and skills in software development come and go, and I have experience of dozens of different ones, but there is always a need to talk clearly and listen carefully.

Many of my clients are web designer who require expert-level code or database skills, or who need specialist graphics (3D and 2D) or spatial development services. I particularly enjoy hard challenges and welcome projects that push the boundaries of what is currently expected or possible!
