General information for the business: Art
Industry: Art and Design
Kind of support: Network
Description of support work:
We used to access the internet via wifi using the same SSID and password for our old Virgin media cable modem/ router and 4 access points in the building.
We have upgraded our Virgin Media cable modem router and are currently able to access the internet via wifi using the SSID and password of our new Virgin Media cable modem/ router. We are also able to access the internet via 4 different access points using the SSID and password of our old modem/ router.
We require reconfiguration of the 4 wifi access points so that their SSID's and passwords are the same as the new Virgin Media cable modem/ router.
All of the access points and the modem/ router are connected via CAT5/6 cable to a switch. The settings for the access points can be accessed remotely via the online interface for the switch.
EQUIPMENT
4 x Netgear access points model number WNAP320
1 x Netgear switch model number GS728TP
1 x Virgin Media cable modem/ router
After the reconfiguration is complete we expect all 4 access points and the modem/ router to have the same SSID and password. We also expect to be able to continue accessing the internet via wifi.
We are based in Central London within 5 mins walk of Tottenham Court Road tube station.

These AP's will work. They have the functionality to be configured in Bridge mode.
-
Read from forums elsewhere Netgear may not support this configuration. worth asking them first...
