Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
Hi there!
We are producing the visual assets for an event that is taking place at the end of May. An important part of the visual identity of the event includes motion graphics.
We are therefore seeking a motion graphics artist to take on a design role, creating motion graphics and animation elements based on design collateral produced for the event.
The required elements are as follows:
1. Event identity sting and loop
2. Alternative, editable identity sting and loop
3. Walk up stings template
4. Opening film overlay animation
We currently view this as suitable for someone who has 2D After Effects capabilities, and potentially some Cinema 4D skills too.
1. Event identity sting and loop
The event already has a fully designed and approved logo/identity artwork. However, we need to develop it into both a short dynamic sting/lockup, and a similarly exciting looping version. The loop will be based on the sting/lockup but will be longer (approximately 30-45s), and may involve additional animated elements. The production process for this will involve the creation of a storyboard to develop the idea.
2. Alternative, editable identity sting and loop
During the event, there are several uses of the above identity to form sub branding (essentially where the main event branding becomes a secondary element and a text title becomes the main element of the design). So as well as the above sting/loop animations, we will require a template that is created from an alternate version of the above, and has an editable title and colour ways. The animation for this alternate loop and sting template will need to be somewhat different to differentiate it from the above, but not significantly so.
3. Walk up stings template
As part of the event we produce a series of short walk up stings to introduce speakers or groups of speakers to the stage. We will therefore need a template created for this with editable names and job titles, as well as presentation title. An example of one of these created for a previous event can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/blackboxproductions/review/220114617/c344c93f51 this will be based on the look and feel of the identity sting and loop.
4. Opening film overlay animation
To open the event we will be creating a short (but hopefully impactful!) opening film that is 60-90s in length. The idea for this at the moment involves it beginning with the main event ident animation, but then the ‘infinity line’ from the event logo transforming into a route that we see running through the various area/landmarks of Berlin (the host city for the event).
We would see this ‘infinity line’ running across/through each shot, and we would occasionally see tracked text titles or images of delegates appearing. After 5-6 ‘scenes’ around the city, we will converge on the Brandenburg Gate landmark, where delegate images will animate onto it (perhaps as if they were being projection mapped in real life) and after we cut through a few shots of this, we will cut to a wide shot of the Brandenburg Gate to finish, and animate the logo identity into place above it.
The video footage and edit for this film would be provided, along with direction for the animation required for each shot. We are not sure yet if we would use a custom shoot or a stock footage approach to gather the shots of Berlin, but we currently see this film as being specifically animation augmented video, rather than a fully animated or CGI/Google Earth type film. A very initial moodboard for this element can be viewed here: http://www.gomoodboard.com/boards/up-uZ5Jm/share (it would likely not be quite so ambitious as some of these references however!)
We are ideally after somebody who has a creative approach to their work, and is able to take an existing design look-and-feel and and develop it into some awesome looking motion graphics assets!
Many thanks,
Anthony and the Blackbox team
