Description
Experience Level: Expert
Existing website template needs a refresh. Requirements as follows:
Bidder required to take existing template and css, and update the look of the template to be more '2010'.
The site supports a technology podcast, and needs to inspire people to want to listen. Red/brown colour is an established theme, but currently looks too red-heavy. We want something clean with some red/brown. Doesn’t need to be too corporate.
1. Template needs a heading bar to run along width of page top. Must use existing logo and subhead, and must have search on top right.
2. 160px wide right-aligned Sidebar needed
3. Layout of HTML should not be radically changed, to allow for easy replacement of existing template
4. Sidebar “Latest Show” needs to stand out. Each page needs to show the current show and fast access to playing the current show.
5. Three tables needed • A generic grid layout (TD border 1px), a single cell “call to action” and a “listen” (class=”listen”)
6. The “listen” box has Play, download and get via itunes. “Play” and “Add to Itunes” are the most important calls-to-action. Requires eye-catching graphic
7. Email capture in sidebar is second key call-to-action, followed by Facebook, RSS and Twitter as joint-third-highest
8. Menu bar and side bar navi areas to be text-based, not graphics / buttons
9. Images used in the content are often non-transparent (as existing template is white), so designer should bear this in mind.
10. Graphics: Will supply logo, existing icons and social networking icons. Happy for designer to use different icons as needed (logo to remain unchanged)
11. Design and IP of code and all assets supplied needs to be owned by us with no usage restrictions. On-page 'Designed by\" message is not permitted
Preferred method of working, once bid accepted, is to receive a design mockup JPG before coding starts, to allow review comments before sight of code.
