Description of requirements/functionality: I am requiring a React Native application to be produced for "Yard Management System" whereby the application is managing the warehouse truck "trailers" by tracking them with RF Trailer Tags.
RF Tracking Trailer Tags
These tags provide GPS location of the trailers which is transmitted via 868MHz RF whilst in the depot area. This location is transmitted every 12s when in the depot. The tags are fixed to the top of the trailer with a proven self adhesive pad and harvest solar energy to maintain power throughout the lifetime of the tag. Inside the depot, the GPS will allow bay level accuracy of the trailer location.
It will be necessary to install a number of RF readers within the site to collect this information but the cost of this work is included within the monthly rental of the tags. Data from these readers will be transmitted to secure cloud servers using the existing site wired Ethernet or wifi network. Optionally this can be done using cellular modems at an additional cost.
When the trailers are out of the depot area, they automatically switch to transmitting the GPS location via the Sigfox LPWAN network with a maximum of 140 messages sent per day per trailer. This information is available to view on a dedicated website. This solution requires no SIM card but is dependent upon the coverage of the Sigfox network.
Software Front End Development
Based on our present understanding of the requirement we would anticipate the software portion of this project to comprise the following:
- Set up a web server with SSL and allow connection securely for customers. The application would show a plan view of the customer site. The plan will identify the bay doors and parking bays and will show the position of each trailer on site using data to be provided from the RF TRACKING GPS data feed. It will refresh every so many minutes (configurable to the appropriate period).
- A search facility will be provided which allows a trailer ID to be entered and if the trailer is on the site, it will be highlighted.
- Parking bays will be uniquely identified, the same as bay doors.
- A user setup page would be added for system managers to maintain the login details of the users.
- Additionally, the assets would need setting up, with their "friendly" name (e.g. trailer 1234) and their tag ID for cross referring the tag data we get from the RF TRACKING system.
- A link to RF TRACKING would be developed to pull location data down.
- Include a "simple" interface to/from external systems.
