We currently have a java solution which creates an interactive map in a client browser of seabed obstructions. We require a small number of modifications to be made to the servlet and applet source code.

The system currently serves a background map and a foreground map - these appears as a single clickable / hoverable map to the client. The foreground map data is derived from a pre-compiled java class file which resides on the server and is downloaded to the applet when the page is displayed. The background map is derived from a windows DLL running on a dedicated windows server and is served via Tomcat as a gif image which appears in the applet as a background image

1. We require changes to be made to the servlet so that the background map is to be derived from a call to the Google map API as binary transfer or similar rather than from our dedicated Windows DLL.

2. We require to change the internal source code of the applet to display lines and points with a safety boundary.

Full source code for both applet and servlet is available and is written mainly in Java but with some cpp for the interface to the windows DLL.
