Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Looking for outstanding AJAX coders to develop a custom web portal similar to netvibes, protopage and the new look yahoo.com.
At the moment we have 95% complete PSDs with designs for this, and will be taking care of remaining Photoshop design work.
The portals should have drag and drop and other Scriptaculous-driven functionality.
To be considered you need to have excellent skills in AJAX and PHP or possibly Ruby on Rails and other, more scaleable platforms. This skill should be demonstrated by having built similarly AJAX-intensive sites for clients, and having testimonials that can be verified by us contacting the clients. You will need to show familiarity with the most complex AJAX features - simple AJAX postback-driven sites will not suffice. You should have excellent, demonstrable knowledge of Scriptaculous, for example.
This project will require a highly formalised development process and very flat reporting structure whereby we will be able to talk directly to the coders and review code and progress every 2-3 days. We are also big on telephone communication and seeing detailed, module by module plans *prior* to code development outlining at a function by function level, and with a complete DB schema - the work plan.
Your bids should be based on doing a netvibes or new look yahoo.com clone but with 5-10 truly unique custom widgets driven by XML and MySQL and PHP-rendered data, and re-used across a total of 25-30 widgets. The widgets we require are themselves are not particularly complex and the examples of netvibes, yahoo.com and protopage should be an adequate guide to the standard.
For excellent coders, this project should not take more than 1-1.5 months to complete [this can be done in .Net AJAX in 10 days as shown by a popular book]. Do state your expected completion time for this and cite examples of finishing projects in those timelines, backed up by testimonials and client contact details.
