Hi,
My former employer (a local authority) has messed up my final pay and are now trying to reclaim money back off me based on incorrect leave figures. They also won’t give me a p45 for my new employer Which means I am going to be put on an emergency tax code and be even more out of pocket!
The hr department are taking no responsibility and have dismissed my query and are raising a debtor invoice against me even though I don’t agree to the charge.
Can you help me?
Joe

Yeah, agree with Tony, unless there is an error, you'll need to pay back the overpayment.
-
You should be aware that if they can prove the over payment you WILL have to pay it back? I'm happy to look over your proof and let you know what I think.
Technically, they are within their rights to delay the P45 as it an official document of earnings and this is in dispute.
