Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are a small Surrey based IT related company and we need ad-hoc freelance support in creating marketing material which will be released to prospects as PDFs and may be printed later - although this is much less likely. Right now we need a 4 page flyer / brochure for a technical product we make. The brochure is already 90% complete with paragraphs, pictures, headings and structure finalised by inhouse staff but it needs a freelance graphic designer eye to improve its layout to make all text line up, use different bullets, put things in boxes and generally improve the appearance and style of the layout. It also needs proofreading for typos and inconsistent use of capitals etc.
We require a simple crisp mainly white background to make it look like it is from a larger professional IT company - the type of dry semi-technical sales brochure Oracle or Cisco might release so images of birds, flowers, butterflies and hot air balloons not required (on this occasion) and instead just geometric design and the odd pale coloured box or coloured line is sufficient.
Most important is that it must stay in Microsoft Publisher format so we can internally make ad-hoc text changes, tweaks, change technical facts as the product develops without having to go back to a designer every time. In the past we have made over 20 such small text change in the months following initial brochure creation. We are aware that most of the graphic designer community works with Adobe Indesign and/or Quark, but we dont want to get taken down this path as we dont have any inhouse skills or software to support these and so would be blocked from making text tweaks to our own brochure.
I guess this is initially just a couple of hours work but more will follow (assuming all goes well) with other product brochures / flyers etc. As MS Publisher is important to us we need someone who has advanced skills in this package and we may need to ask you to send a previous MS Publisher document you have personnaly created to check that it will load and view at our end.
For this initial task the person can be based anywhere in the UK but would be better if SE England based, if a face-to-face meeting is every required to discuss future work. Thank you.
