Description

Experience Level: Expert
Hi,
I'm doing a small project related to Tangible User Interfaces and d-Touch using Java and/or Flash.
Actually, there is a part of the code that we can use as a base and develop it.
Briefly, there will be a shared table with cubes on it represent objects, such as buildings, parkings, etc. (of a university campus as a case) in there suggested positions. The information of these cubes are stored in a computer that will detect the d-touch markers attached on the top of each cube. At the same time the digital version of this proposal (let's say here the flash file or Java Swing) is shown in the computer screen which will be customised simultaneously as anyone changes the position of any cube. Moreover, there will be fixed area e.g. lake which will be projected by a mounted projector.

As you can see that the program based mainly on d-touch technology (see http://d-touch.org/libdtouch/).
The d-touch marker recognition library, libdtouch, is available under GPL licence. To use it in your own projects you can use the d-touch server (DTServer) (it's in the attachment).
The DTServer is an application that acquires images from a camera connected to your computer (e.g. a webcam), looks for d-touch markers in them and makes the results available via a socket server. Other programs, written in any programming language (for example Java and Flash), can connect to the DTServer and use the information about the d-touch markers.

DTServer recognizes the d-touch markers corresponding to the IDs listed in the file seq.txt (in the conf folder in the DTServer folder), please refer to the d-touch design rules for more information about IDs. However, don't worry I will sort out the design of the markers myself.

You can use the attached Java and/or Flash files in their zipped folders as a base and edit it by adding code about the action that should be performed when the marker is detected by the camera and then after it changes its place.

Please reply me ASAP because I'm in a hurry.
