Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: We are an online platform that creates made-to-order tailored clothing for women worldside.
Target audience: Female aged 20-60 worldwide
Research needed: yes
Chapters needed: Production analysis, raw material sourcing analysis, Costing matrix
Information to be included in each chapter: This detailed costing matrix will form part of the business plan we are currently developing. In order to complete the costing matrix, the following work and research will need to be undertaken, with research results analysed and organised into an easily readable format.
- Research on the type of fabrics suitable for making each of the listed garment type
- Research on the potential vendors for sourcing each type of fabric - include details on the vendors (countries, factory locations, specialties, ethical sourcing?), their corresponding fabric quality and prices (per yard + inches)
- Research on how much fabric (in yards + inches) is typically required to make each type of garment
- Calculate the typical raw material cost for making each type of garment
- Detail any assumptions made, potential variations in data / results and their reasons
The FINAL OUTPUT should include the following:
- A FABRIC SELECTION ANALYSIS - Detailing for each garment type, what fabric (or sub-fabric type) are typically most suitable for making that garment
- A FABRIC SOURCING ANALYSIS - Detailing for each fabric and sub-fabric type, what vendors are available, their details (as outlined above), their corresponding fabric quality and prices
- THE FABRIC-GARMENT COSTING MATRIX - the matrix will show for each type of garment, typically how much fabric will be required to make that piece of garment, and correspondingly how much the raw material costs for that garment will be based on the cost of per yard of fabric and how much fabric will be needed.
