Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Information for the business: We are an interactive software company
Industry: Technology
Design details: We have a software product (Acquire Wayfinder) http://www.acquiredigital.com/wayfinder/
We would like someone to take some sample CAD architect plans and create 3D models to be used in the software. I will attached some examples of the CAD drawings and a finished 3D map.
As for the design of the 3D files, we would like to keep the maps simple, with no complex textures or detail. Walkways, walls, doors and large objects are good, but we don't need furniture, or textured walls.
Ideas for the visual style: Simple, elegant, with subtle textures only.
Things to avoid: Complicated textures or detail
Preferred colors: No preference
Urls to draw inspiration from: http://www.acquiredigital.com/wayfinder/
Extra notes: I have attached some comments on the file format from the developers.
Textures:
WRAP, CLAMP and TILE modes supported
PNG or JPG, alpha channel supported (diffuse map)
Lighting:
Diffuse, Ambient, Emission and Specular. No bump/lighting/specular mapping support
Buildings:
Each building must be a separate named mesh/object within the file
Vertex count – the smaller the better as it is real-time rendering
Overlapping surfaces – might need slight gaps to prevent Z-Fighting in the renderer
