Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I need help with working through my accounts and simplifying what i have managed to make a little over complicated.
I currently have two businesses;
Business A - Consultancy income
Business B-Retail shop (Sale or return is one strand of revenue, wholesale business is the second)
I set up sage one which i'd never used before and I've got myself in a bit of a mess due to lack of time to work out the best way to use the system and since i started 3 years ago, its become quite busy. All revenue and costs are shown within one business on sage.The P&L is quite neat as i separate out the revenue and costs into nominal showing which business they belong to but of course i can't get a balance sheet out as everything is in together. I am due to submit my accounts at the end of this month
I am happy to start using xero or another system that is better for multiple businesses moving forward but i do need to work out how to separate out the trading for each business for the prior periods. The good news is that I do have lots of supporting documents which backs up all of the control accounts, the split of revenue and costs but need someone to take a look and help me work out the best plan of action and how i correct what i have done.
Is this something you could help me with?
I would ideally need an initial skype or telephone call to go through the detail
Advise on what we need to do to separate out the businesses (happy if we produce accounts on excel and move to a new system or fix what we have)
Someone to actually help me get to the point that we have seperate P&L's and Balance sheets for each business
Potentially there is ongoing work for bookkeeping moving forward
