Description
Experience Level: Expert
General information for the website: GPS Analysis
Description of requirements/features: User Experience
- Upload GPS track (GPX file) to website
- Website analyses file
- Website displays results
Analysis
1) What is the total distance the GPS track covers (add distance between each GPS location)
2) How far is it from the start point of the track to the last point of the track (straight line distance) .
3) What is the difference in the distances (give distance and percentage difference)
4) What was the total elevation climbed during the track?
5) What was the total elevation fallen during the track?
6) What was the elevation difference between the start point and the finish point?
7) How many times does the track stop? (stop defined as greater than 10 seconds, where no point is further than 5 metres from the first point - It must be straightforward to adjust these parameters in the code.)
8) Does the track stop within the first 10 metres? (same stopping parameters as above)
9) Does the track cross over itself? - Does the track go within 10 metres of itself when it has already been more than 20 metres from that point? (It must be straightforward to adjust these parameters in the code.)
10) The track gets within 20 metres of the final GPS point in the file before going further away again - greater than 10 metres from closest point to endpoint. (It must be straightforward to adjust these parameters in the code.)
Analysis Display to User
- Display data as a list on webpage. All distances in metres.
Future
- This is a basic prototype. Next phases of the project will be more complex and will involve greater analysis and user authentication.
Languages
- The backend should be written in Node.js and preferably with MEAN stack but open to other options.
