Description

Experience Level: Expert
Project:
Online Media Pack

Deadline:
Needs to be completed in 2 weeks

Summary:
From either indesign files/PDF supplied, or from existing flash files (see below) Build a small CMS/database that the client can update (assume no technical knowledge) with text, images, videos, and statistics on an ongoing basis. Integrate database into a Flash/XML/HTML frontend/microsite.

This project has been started by a developer who has had to pull out. He has built the front end in flash, but I am unsure at this stage whether I am going to be able to get the source files from him or not. Here is a link to what he has built already:

If not, perhaps extracting the .fla files from the .swf files is an option? this would be up to you. if it proves impossible to extract the .fla files, they may need to start again from the PDF/indesign files.

Here is a link to a PDF which was my flat mockup prior to any coding, and has been signed off by the client:

you'll need to refer to this PDF to see the extent of the data that the database/CMS needs to include.

Basically, all of the content (text, images, statistical data, and video) needs to be able to be updated on an ongoing basis by the client. The first developer's solution to this was to look at building a php/mysql CMS hosted (eventually) on the client's server which the client could log onto and upload/replace any bit of content as needed. I'm pretty sure it's going to need FLash/Actionscript but Ultimately, I don't mind how it's done, as long as it looks and behaves exactly as per the PDF/online sample shown, is all-browsers friendly, and can be hosted on the client's server via a login allowing the client to update all data, as mentioned.

Details: (refer to both link and PDF)

Wherever the ipod appears horizontally will be one or more videos, which client needs to be able to update (see PDF)

The meaty stuff is on the following sections:

- the users section, which has both a set of graphs and statistics that need to feed from the database (and be updatable by the client), and a world map with the continents as rollovers that will bring up (on the vertical ipod) statistical data about users in each continent (see PDF for fields)

- The key site metrics section, which has a similar map, with same continent rollovers, but different fields (see PDF)

- The ratecard section needs to be able to toggle between 2 or 3 different currencies, based on some kind of live online currency data

- there is also case studies section within how to work with us (not online, but see PDF) containing a few sub-pages

It needs to be all-browser friendly, and it can be turned round quickly and within my budget. feel free to contact me for any more information.

I'd want to meet up to start things off, so you'll probably need to be based in london.
