Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
General information for the business: CAE, FEA, Fatigue
Industry: Technology
Kind of consulting: Engineering
Description of consulting work: CAE tool usage for fatigue analysis of wind turbine blade model
Extra notes: Need to import an IGES/step model a wind turbine blade and perform composite fatigue analysis due to wind loads. This is my personal work for research project.
Inputs:-
The time varying loads
Material props
Material layup data
Blade is fixed at root end as cantilever
IGES/STEP model and native Catia geometry of the blade
A sample Ansys 16.2 project is available in which ACP is used to solve static structural analysis for composite material.
Analysis to be done :- Fatigue (Life, damage, Factor of safety)
Note: Ansys ACP does not support Fatigue. So you will have to use nCode DesignLife or other solver to get Fatigue results. Please see attached image
If you want to use Abaqus or other tools then also fine. Note that the material is composite (epoxy resin etc) with multiple layers and different orientation angles.
