This is a system for a small single outlet shop. A touchscreen based epos system for a fast food style made-to-order sandwich bar and cafe. Sandwiches have multi level options as salad options, bread options, eatin/take away options, hot/cold, etc.. pricing changes by these options and some times customer changes their mind so the order should beupdated at any point without reentering all order again. order cycle: take order, prepare order, collect and pay order. Orders can be taken from any terminal and could complete at any terminal. Orders prepared at several different "preperation area" according to the items orderes. eg: cold sandwich, hot sandwich, meals, hot drinks etc.. so once a mixed order taken, system should reflect the items to be prepared at the relevant preperation monitor and once all prepared they should be collected and paid and one of the terminals. for example:
Order: customer order to the service operator at one of the "order taking terminals": 1x Bacon&Egg sandwich, 1xCheese Sandwich with onion and mayonnese, 1x Tea. Customer given an order number and told to wait.
Preperation: System should display the Bacon & Egg (sandwich) on "hot sandwich station monitor" and Chese sandwich order on "cold sandwich station monitor" and "tea" on the "drink station monitor" once the items are ready they should be collected at one of the collection till. Customer may add some "on the shelf" items at this point like crisps, cold drinks etc..
- entry should be very basic and flxible as the operators spend minimal time to take the orders or to add/correct any orders.
- As there are many number of options and items, preperation staff should be able to see the only the orders they need to prepare at their stations. (once prepared they may need to mark that item as "done".
- Screen designs are the key point for a fast and easy order input by the operators.
- A single database needed to collect all the order processing data. All the daily/weekly/periodic transaction and analysys reports should be taken from this database.
- for the meal sets, system should show the individual items on the relevant preperation monitors: eg: Breakfast Set 1: egg, bacon, chips, beans on grill preperation monitor and Tea on the drink monitor and 2 slice of bread and butter on sandwich station..
- menu can be updated at anytime with the details of pricing, options, and preperation areas, etc..
- a customer monitor should show the summary of the full order (with minimal details effecting the prices) to the customer at order till or collect and payment till.
- System should be design on a modular base that Operator/Accounting/Stock reports and management could be added
