Keep the Dream Alive

Tom Emmer, Republican candidate for Minnesota Governor is out meeting with various multicultural business owners and presenting his vision for Minnesota that includes less government regulations and more tax breaks for buinesses so that Minnesota can grow jobs and dig out of the job deficit that faces our great state. On this day, Emmer is meeting with Hispanic business owners in the E. Lake street area in Minneapolis. \"It\'s really amazing to see the wonderful economic development that has happened on E. Lake street with the support and growth of the Hispanic business community\" remarked Emmer.
Emmer was visting the Mercado Central on E. Lake and Bloomington streets, an Hispanic landmark and asking various business owners what they would need to help their businesses grow and prosper. Many of the owners remarked that the proposed sales tax on clothing that is being discussed by other candidates would be a \"backbreaker\" for them and the Hispanic community.
Hispanic business owners want less regulations and need more capital so that they grow their businesses and create more jobs for their community Emmer agreed and added that this in no time to be taxing working people and business owners.

\"This business corridor on E. Lake street and others Hispanic corridors on Cesar Chavez Street and Payne Avenue in Saint Paul represent the important role that Hispanic immigrants play in the growth of the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota \"
\"These business corridors where mostly left empty and abandoned by the exodus to the suburbs in the 70\'s and late 80\'s but the Hispanic immigrants didn\'t see an abandoned corridor, they saw an opportunity, they saw the \"American Dream\" a chance to open their own business, to offer jobs to others in the Hispanic community\" Emmer stated with passion.

Emmer moved through the Mercado and talked to other business owners, Victor Hugo Nivelo, Rudy Trujillo and Rick Aguilar and continued with his thoughts about the importance of this upcoming election to the future of Minnesota. \"As more immigrants arrive in Minnesota, we must keep their dreams alive, and offer them the opportunity to work and open a business, that\'s what I want to do as Governor of Minnesota, ....support business, grow jobs....keep the American Dream alive for our immigrannt
communities and make Minnesota a state where \"Business Thrives\" not a place where businesses close or move to other states.\"
