Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
Num. of books: 1
Industry: Business
Topic: Content Marketing
Tone: Instructional/Educational
Outline & Structure: I would like to develop an Ebook aimed at promoting content/inbound marketing services to help subscription style business acquire more customers.
The type of business I mean are:
http://www.thecheesesociety.co.uk/
https://www.hellofresh.co.uk/
http://www.kopi.co.uk/
http://www.woof-box.co.uk/
http://www.toucanbox.com/
http://www.thespicery.com/
The purpose of the Ebook should be to educate these type of small business owners about the power of content marketing to:
- Drive more traffic to their site (using blogs and social media)
- Generate leads (using downloadable content and opt-in forms)
- Convert leads into sales and promote customer loyalty (using emails)
It should emphasise
1. Creating a clear strategy, identifying buyer personas, and outlining possible 'pain points' to address through targeted content that will help them solve their problems or achieve something they value.
2. Producing regular blog content addressing these customers needs and creating a content hub to attract the ideal customer.
3. Building an owned audience on social media to promote content, and develop a brand voice that evokes a lifestyle that will appeal to the ideal customer.
4. Using vivid, bespoke imagery to drive brand loyalty and shareability of content.
5. Using social media advertising to retarget website visitors (i.e. using Twitter/Facebook pixels) and create lookalike audiences to target the right type of customer with optimised adverts.
6. Creating a premium piece of content to encourage email opt-ins (eBook, report etc)
7. Building an email auto-responder to turn leads into customers.
8. Create engaging email newsletters to encourage customer loyalty.
8. Using Google Analytics to optimise content strategy.
The book should be highly actionable (lots of bullet points, top tips in call-out boxes and end of chapter takeaways that can be actioned now), useful and packed full of hypothetical examples using similarly structured businesses to illustrate each key point.
The introduction should acknowledge the challenges faced by these type of business, and demonstrate how content can tackle these (see: http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/231443), i.e. differentiating from the competition, changing buying preferences and adding value to existing customers to increase loyalty.
Ideally we are looking for something no more than 10pgs, but if all the points are covered in detail, it could be a lot less. I don't tend to set word counts as I feel it is better to deliver a message concisely, than force a writer to add fluff to meet ridiculous word counts. I will trust you as a writer and marketer to make the right call on that front.
Extra notes: The call-to-action should be reasonably subtle in the sense that the purpose of the book should be education, but the ideal outcome is to make them see the benefit of having an expert manage the process on their behalf. The final page should introduce us, and how we specialise in growing online subscription businesses using these strategies. They can email us for a free proposal.
There isn't a whole lot out there to use as an example, but I found one interesting article, although not all of it is relevant. Additional research may be required if you don't have experience of these types of business: http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/245638
To apply, please outline your writing and marketing experience, relating to the brief, and supply an sample of your writing. If you do not do this, I will reject your application automatically. On that note, I am looking for native English speakers only.
