Invitation to Tender
Instructions for Tenders
1. Tenders are invited for the provision of web-development services as detailed in the Service Requirements sections below.
2. Contracts will be awarded on the basis of best value to Pi and Pi does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
3. Tenders should include:
o Company background
o Profile of account manager that will take responsibility for project
o Examples of previous similar projects
o Project approach
o Proposed technology to be used
o Project plan
o Expected costs
o Warrantees and SLA provisions
o Company Quality Statement
o 2 References should have been managed by the account manager that will be responsible for this project. Pi will make contact with the reference organisations
4. Tenders must be submitted on the basis specified in the tender. If any part of the Service Requirements cannot be met then this should be clearly stated.
5. Tenders must be returned by email. The email should be entitled E-commerce Website
6. Deadline for submission of tender is 12noon Monday 10th May 2010. tenders received after this time will not be considered.
7. Any enquiries concerning the tender invitation must be made in writing.
8. Interviews and further enquiries will take place during week commencing 17th May 2010.
9. Pi aims to award the contract by 24th May 2010.
Background and requirements Overview
Pi is developing a service to provide businesses with access to tender opportunities from Africa.
The website to be developed will allow customers to subscribe in order to search for tender opportunities and / or receive regular tender alerts.
In due course the site will also allow customers to download useful market reports.
Customers will be businesses based any where in the world and there must be an ability to purchase services on-line
We are seeking tenders from suitably qualified website developers that can develop and support a site that will:
Have a content management back office
Link with internal CRM systems
Be well optimised for all the major search engines
Provide ability for clients to subscribe to alerts
Provide ability for client to buy specific reports
Include e-commerce functionality
Use a compliant database management system to manage significant quantities of information
Our timescales are:
Tender publication date 23 April 2010
Tender return date 10 May 2010
Interview date w/c 17 May 2010
Tender Award date 24 May 2010
