Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are currently in the process of implementing the first of a three stage modification, cleansing and addition to one of our marketing databases.
The marketing data base in question includes over 780,000 business records,
the data database is in excel .csv format and separated into 50 separate excel spreadsheet by UK county.
The data includes entries such as postal address, email address, contact names, telephone number, business sector, employee numbers and SIC codes.
What we require is as follows
1) A substantial number of the entries in the \"number of employees\" column are formatted in date e.g. where 6-10 employees has been formatted as 06-Oct these entries need to be changed into a numerical value.
2) We need the database to be segmented into business sectors so that we are able to provide numbers for each sector represented in the list ans to have the companies represented in the list segmented into sector.
3) The above requirement needs to be repeated for number of employees.
The first phase is simple and essentially requires the expertise of an individual or company that has a knowledge of pivots, macros and is bale to easily manipulate and extract excel formatted data on the required criteria.
Following successful completion of the above listed requirements, discussion will be initiated with the selected company in relation to the next two phases of work we require on the database which include cleansing and adding to the database.
