Description
Experience Level: Expert
Dear All,
We are in need of a consumer PR specialist to work on 4 clients:
1. A health/fitness consultant • two clinic’s, one in Harley Street, a great guy and someone who needs a little national media exposure
2. Shoes Designer / Manufacturer • they make the most amazing women’s shoes/boots that are individually designed and handmade. Fantastic designs that need some coverage in the women’s consumer/lifestyle press
3. Food Manufacturer • gorgeous Jamaican food in need of a little coverage
4. Organisational Psychologist • great guy, with an innovative/new product
We are over run with clients and need someone to:
i) Work remotely • home office set-up is essential
ii) Work flexibly, i.e. an hour or two each day, some more, some less • whatever works for you
iii) Excellent consumer press contacts
iv) Able to make things happen, i.e. talk about clients, come up with ideas, make calls, pitch stories and get results
v) Enthusiasm!
We don’t need:
- Dedicated bloggers • thank you for all of your previous e-mails but this isn’t what we’re looking for
- Marketing specialists • again, thanks but no thanks
- People who will give us a timesheet breakdown per 10 minute slots
- Individuals who have never worked in a PR agency or never done freelance PR work
- Other PR agencies who want us to sub-contract to a rival agency and work at a lower rate
All of our clients are genuinely lovely. We need someone who can look at them, have some ideas and make things happen. These are all small/medium sized businesses and have small/medium sized expectations • they are not expecting the world, just one/two little bits of media coverage per month.
If you have good contacts and a can-do attitude we’d love to hear from you! We are based in Reading/London but it’s not essential you are near us. We will pay £400-500 per month and will trial things for one month; if it works we’d love to potentially give you more clients and more money.
Warmest regards, and thanks!!
Simon
We are a small independent PR agency with offices in Reading and London. During the past few weeks we have had a number of new business wins and as a result, we are looking for freelance PR support.
The clients we have are a mix of consumer, corporate and technology, they each have a good story to tell and have selected our agency due to our focus on delivering good quality press coverage.
Our clients are all very nice, they have realistic expectations and have asked us to get them in the press.
As many agencies continue to oversell we tell clients what we can do, and then do it. This no nonsense approach has worked very well.
What are we ideally looking for:
- A minimum of 5+ years public relations experience
- Preferably agency experience, but this is not a must’
- A proactive and outgoing individual
- Someone who can work on their own remotely
- Someone who could potentially’ meet-up in either London or Reading once every month (all travel separately reimbursed)
- A self starter
- Good writing skills, i.e. press releases, case studies, by-lined articles
- Someone who is not afraid to pick up a phone, send speculative e-mail pitches and follow-up to make things happen
Ideally we’d like to offer someone just under one day’s work per week. We’d ideally like this to be done throughout the week, so you’d work for between one/two hours per day. The key thing is our flexibility • perhaps you’d like to work two hours a day Monday • Thursday and never on a Friday, perhaps one hour every afternoon would be perfect? We can work around you!
We’re conscious you are likely to have other priorities in life so we are willing to be very flexible. We’d look to give you a small number of accounts, discuss the client and the program we have designed and then work with you to make things happen as you pitch for features, staff the off telephone interview and draft a press release or two.
About Us:
We are a small agency that has been operating for just under one year. In this time we have won 15 clients and have a lot of new business in the pipeline. We are owned/staffed by a small team who have each done 10-15 years in top5 global PR agencies. We are down-to-earth, outgoing and fun. We love PR and need a great person to join us, to work hard and to enjoy the benefits of remote working, no commuting and no internal political rubbish. We need someone who loves PR and wants to work for a few hours each week in an industry they love with some interesting clients.
We’d like to try things for one/two months to see how they go, if it all works out • and we are very confident this will • then we’d like to offer a longer term contract for you to support us and our clients on an ongoing basis.
If you are interested please get in touch. Let us know a bit about you, your background, why this will work for you and anything else you think we might like to know.
