Description

Experience Level: Intermediate
This is an extensive project for an experienced ecommerce website developer to construct an website encompassing a sector focused B2B secondary market business. As such the website will need to be able to handle high volumes of confidential business/personal data, item/product postings, payments, etc. It will need to be totally secure and be able to alert participants as items that are posted need to clear in a relatively short time frame. As a result, the registration and preference input pages will need to be very thorough and there will a lot of sub product categories. As this is a unique business, the site’s push to the user universe will be in the brand name and through the use of the direct marketing channels. SEO in this regard, will not be as important-unless you can convince me that it is an important part of ebay’s marketing strategy. I will need advice on hosting, best technology for the types of application and infrastructure the site will need and what presents well on mobile devices etc. And naturally what offers the best bang for my buck.

The site will need to look very professional, efficient and definitely not gimmicky. I have a fully worked brief and subject to NDA I can let you see it for your feedback. I am looking to build a close working relationship with the developer who is flexible, open minded, strategically aware, efficient, offer excellent feedback, be timely in updating, capable of listening and anticipating problems. Once a detailed plan has been agreed then it will executed to the letter unless changes are pre-agreed. The fee will be fixed so developer will need to be sure of the work involved and associated costs when providing a quote.

In the first instance I want to hear from people who think they have the requisite experience and skillset. An NDA will be required, followed by briefing note, discussion and input followed by fixed fee quote.

I have rough idea how much this site will cost so I am looking for benchmark quotes which can vary depending on combinations of essential infrastructure, best practice and cheap/equally effective. I am also willing to pay more to attract the right person.

Finally, I can point you to some similarly themed sites to give you a better idea of what I am looking for and as well as other sites for style and look. This will be done once an NDA is signed.
