Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 1 - 6 months
Information for the business: I am an indie games developer
Industry: Art and Design
Design details: I am making a physics based 2D platforming game. I need a passionate artist/illustrator who can create minimalistic game art for mobile (Example: Monument Valley, Boor, Alto's Adventure etc)
First I want you to take up a quick test. I have provided a link in the Extra Notes Section. Thats a screen shot of the game. I would like you to come up with solutions to make the game look better based on the description given in the google doc below.
Then I need you to visualise the game world and create a unique art style for the game based on the game's narrative and mood. I have done a pre-fund only for this. If this works out we will decide for the rest of the games budget.
Based on that I need final game assets that resonate with the game word and the style.
1. There are 40 levels which need modular art pieces that I can reuse.
2. ~10-14 traps/obstacles + their animation
3. Platforms
4. 1 Character (Square)
5. Enemies (Triangles)
6. 4 Arenas/Environments that need to have subtle idle animations
7. Glyphs that show visual stories like in Journey
7. Game UI
8. Marketing Material for the app store
Target audience: 10-40 casual gamers
Ideas for the visual style: Flat and minimalist.
Things to avoid: No Realistic Art and No gradients please
Preferred colors: very unsaturated, but I am quiet open about this
Where the design will be used: App store
Extra notes: Go through the document for more details (Story and references)

So what exactly are you asking for for $50?
-
50$ for a mountain of work?
Chintan S.13 Aug 2017you think a $50 is too much for a proof of concept, a mood board and first draft of the art style? The pre-funding is not done for the entire game.
-
so this is $50 total for up to 6 months worth of work, is this correct?
Chintan S.09 Aug 2017I wish but guess thats not how the world works :P. $50 for the initial proof of concept which brings both parties on the same page. I am expecting screens, mock ups, renders etc basically anything that conveys the overall style and makes the game world feel meaningful.
