Purpose of the explainer / who the audience is
Desired tone / feel e.g. chatty and upbeat, chatty but serious, authoritative and powerful, sombre and empathetic etc...
Pronunciation guides for any unusual terms and things like if there's a temperature in the copy - would you prefer 'degrees c' or 'degrees centigrade' or 'degrees celsius'.\
It's always helpful to discuss before recording. Brackets in copy are tricky for voiceover, bullet points can raise some questions. So clarifying how you would like your script read is vital.
