Previously, I have been an event stylist, a consultant on trends in the South African wedding industry, and founder of my own company ‘The Toast Enterprise’.
I have a Bachelors of Art in Visual Communication (Stellenbosch University), as well as a Culinary Diploma (The South African Chef’s Academy), and combining the two has given me the opportunity to style shoots for South African Wedding Guide, My Wedding Day Magazine and Wedding Inspirations Quarterly.
The last seven years I have been the in-house Head of Design for two companies, namely Gatineau and Salon Privé. Gatineau is a french heritage skincare brand owned by Revlon, and I have completely transformed its corporate identity as well as designed its e-commerce website. My work has resulted in the products being launched in John Lewis Oxford Street and M&S all over the UK, and increased revenue by almost half a million pounds annually. For these projects I have overseen all creative, including projects ranging from packaging design, the design of the an Oxford Street window display (visual merchandising for all stores), art direction and styling of shoots, including Christmas, set design for QVC, website content management, design of other e-commerce website material ( QVC, The Hut Group, Very) and design of all marketing, social, email and print advertising campaigns. This includes event collateral for stockists all over UK. The work includes 3D set design for QVC, one of the main distributors.
Simultaneously, I am the sole designer for Salon Privé, owned by Performance Events Ltd – a luxury automotive event held annually, for which I created the new corporate identity, which effectively saw it’s launch at Blenheim Palace and firmly establishing itself on the British social calendar. Some work includes redesigning the UX Website, managing all content, email campaigns, route plans, maps, event layout, outdoor plus digital banner campaigns, and all event collateral such as design of awards, event signage, photographer’s briefs, all marketing and print material. 3D illustration is required to present marquee layouts to clients, and for general presentations to suppliers as to how the event will look.
I am very comfortable managing a team, and acting as an Art Director.
