What you get with this Offer
Are you looking for a copy editor who will treat your manuscript with the respect it deserves? Look no further.
As a writer, you are too close to your book to notice too much backstory, the author voice creeping in or foggy words that slow down the reader.
These mistakes can destroy an otherwise great story.
It is my job as an editor to find and eliminate them.
While most freelance editors will often focus on minor mistakes like grammar and word-choice, I have developed an editing system that will easily detect and eliminate these and more.
Here’s how I do it;
STAGE ONE: MACRO EDITING
I will begin by reading through the manuscript without making any comments to familiarize myself with the story and characters. Then, I will point out the macro-problems I encounter. These include plot issues, POV issues, character development issues, lack of conflict or too much of it, too much or too little description and other major issues. This is what would ordinarily be described as developmental editing.
I will write an Editorial Feedback Report that details everything I found and my recommendations. CONTACT ME TO SEE A SAMPLE EDITORIAL REPORT.
STAGE TWO: YOU MAKE NECESSARY CHANGES
I will send it back to you to implement the macro-changes you agree with. I am always available to explain my recommendations
STAGE THREE: COPY-EDITING
After making the changes, you give me your manuscript and I go through it again. This time I will be copy-editing. This is where I find filler words, too much adverb use, poor choice of words, unbelievable dialogue and yes, grammatical errors
At every stage in the editing process, can accept or reject the suggestions I make at your discretion.
