I am interested in doing different things as well as transferring skills that I have into different, or unusual, areas to give me new experiences and to expand my knowledge.
In life, I am interested in people, first and foremost; and I am looking for projects that would fulfil my desire to expand into new and exciting environments.
I am told that I am calm and collected in a crisis, an easy-going person who is adaptable and flexible and who goes the extra mile without needing to be asked to do it! I enjoy functioning autonomously and I am used to operating as a self-starter without direct supervision. I think that I have the personal skills and characteristics that make me a reliable, dependable and resilient person to have on a 'team' in any situation.
Area Covered: Why I am the person that you need to employ today!
Work Experience Summary: I began my career by undertaking volutary work in a nightshelter for homeless people over 20 years ago.
Since then I have worked with homeless people in a number of settings [young person's unit, long-term residential care, day centres, outreach/streetwork] and I currently work in a project providing housing support to vulnerable adults with complex needs.
I have worked at all levels from volunteer to Project Manager and have developed a wide number of skills in each of of these positions.
I am also a member of a management committee for a project that provides training to voluntary organisations.
Education Summary: Having studied English Literature and Art to A'level standard, I then worked for many years prior to achieving the Diploma in Social Work through the Open University.
