Montmorency, FRnot satisfied with the editing work
Cheyenne D.
The client requested that I edit his document with Track Changes, and that I avoid editing portions he had specifically highlighted. The only exception was if I, as a native English speaker, felt those highlighted portions needed work. I edited with Track Changes in the .docx format and applied heavy edits to the un-highlighted areas, including rewrites to enhance difficult portions. For those highlighted portions, I applied special attention and lightly edited to improve areas clearly written by a non-native speaker, without compromising the content.
The client was originally satisfied with the work, but had difficulty enabling the Reviewing Panel on his document-viewing program. I provided tutorials and he persisted that he was unable to view the changes, thus accusing me of not having made the changes. He then indicated afterward that he wanted the highlighted portions entirely rewritten, rather than lightly edited. I offered to further troubleshoot the program issue and to apply further edits if he could specify which highlighted areas he felt were not up to par. However, he left this review before allowing me to provide further help.
I’m sorry he was displeased with the work, but I believe I provided as much help as I could.
