Leeds, GBI have used Bernice a few times. She is someone who does not keep you updated. You have to keep asking for an update, and could be waiting, 3-5 days sometimes for her to reply with a quick message saying she is finished by a certain day and send it over, often that date passed by and she didn't send the finished work.
The last proofreading she did many mistakes were found. After sending it back for it checking again, it still came back with more issues.
Bernice was great in the beginning but the more I used her the more she became relaxed with the timeline the final work was like 15 days late for the original edit.

London, GBI felt the editing done by Bernice could have been better and professional. It was a poorly edited work. For instance, one of the sentences, after the editing read thus: “In a federal country, the people — not the people only making up one ruling party — but the people as they make up every state and union territory should have their interests represented.” Obviously, when I first sent the draft, I did not pay attention to the syntax but after going through the edited work, I had realised that Bernice did not pick on such an evident flaw in the sentence.
There were other very basic errors/typos: for instance, the word “communalist” was left unchecked and it read, “communalaist”. There were prepositional mistakes which were overlooked in addition to incorrect use of words. In the original manuscript, I typed ‘sound bytes’ but it should have been ‘sound bites.’
To be fair, Bernice offered to go through the work again but after looking at her work I had lost confidence in her. I was disappointed.
Running a simple ‘spell check’ and ‘grammar’ check should have highlighted some glaring errors. I felt that she rushed through the work.

Kavin requested the invoice and paid it before checking the work. I offered to do another sweep over it, which is common practice and I always offer that to all my buyers. He requested a refund of 50% of the fee so that he could give it to someone else. It is unreasonable to demand a refund for a few simple issues that are easily fixed.
