Athens, GRUnfortunately, the result was not satisfying enough. The mistakes corrected were more or less based on the “word’s tool”. The communication was friendly but many times I had to send two or three messages until I received an answer. I have to admit that trusting Amanda for my master’s thesis proofreading was not the best choice. I hope it was just a bad week and wish her good luck to her next tasks.

I am baffled by this review and the feedback I have received. I can only imagine that a lack of understanding of the "Track Changes" function in Word has led to this, as it is clear from the edited document that a vast amount of changes were made to spelling, grammar, vocabulary and sentence structure (far from merely correcting the few mistakes that Word picked up on).
A comparison of the original text and the edited version also confirms the level of work carried out on the thesis. It appears though, from workstream messages exchanged after completion that, despite posting a "proofreading" task and never stating any greater requirements, the buyer actually wanted their thesis re-written to sound "more scientific".
Regarding communication, I always responded swiftly. The only time several messages were sent by the buyer before receiving a response was when a string of messages were sent quickly and directly after the other.
This seems to be a case of the buyer not communicating their requirements, leading to their disappointment. A disappointment which I think is unfounded, as the edited text is in fact a decent piece of writing. With regard to the actual thesis and its hypotheses though, as the old adage suggests, "You can't polish a t...".
