Worked for a variety of industry sectors (small & large) in and around the southeast and London.
I enjoy what I do but equally I like to deliver quality of service because that's what people expect and I do my best to do a job well.
Take a look at my experience and skills page and see if they match what you are looking for. I'd be happy to discuss my profile in more detail.
Area Covered: South East (M4) & London
Summary: Having studied Computer Science to degree level and gained several professional qualifications, I have several years experience as a support analyst and systems administrator. These have included Windows NT/2K/2K3 server administration, SQL database administration, Windows XP and more recently Mac OS X 10.5 & 10.6 in a high pressure fast moving fashion house supporting hundreds of users. In due course, I plan to update my qualifications to reflect my ability to support the Mac operating systems and hardware. I have also had experience using many different support tools such as Remedy, BMC, Track-IT and Hornbill to manage support issues, often resolving them remotely and/or via the phone. This not only requires the ability think methodically but also to communicate at different levels in order to understand and resolve root cause issues quickly and effectively. Whist I am not a qualified hardware engineer, I have often been required to repair and/or upgrade hardware e.g. from adding more memory (RAM) to replacing the Intel processor (CPU) and the occasional laptop screen to name but a few.
Whilst much of my previous experience required working well as a team player, I have also been able to demonstrate my ability to work well as an individual, managing small projects from start to finish, regularly reporting progress and issues, keeping management informed and often liaising with third party suppliers to get the job done on time and within budget without neglecting any of the detail. These examples include:
(i) Project managing the move of the server room to a new location in the same building and
organising the installation of new gigabit ethernet cabling throughout the entire office.
(ii) Setting up and managing the connection of a new sales office to the corporate network.
In summary, I’d like to include my personal profile, which describes my professional attitude and ability to provide a quality service:
A motivated and enthusiastic team player with a "can do" goal oriented attitude to work and a strong background in I.T. support and administration. Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels face-to-face and groups. I am responsible, reliable and a firm believer in honesty and integrity which always helps to maintain good working relations with customers and colleagues alike. I am focused and committed to providing the best of my service without compromising quality or agreed time constraints.
