MY EXPERIENCE OF USING PPH FOR DEVELOPMENT OF AN ECCOMMERCE SITE INSTEAD OF USING A WEB DEVELOPMENT COMPANY

Initially I was going to have a website developed from within the UK. As I wanted the site to be Wordpress based, it turned out this would have cost two thousand pounds plus if I wanted it doing to a high standard.

In the end I decided to use a different approach. This would involve:
1. having a psd (Photoshop files) designed for the look and layout of the website
2. Having these pages converted into functioning html.
3. Having the html site converted into a fully functioning wordpress based ecommerce site.

I therefore needed an excellent designer to mock-up the site in Photoshop and an excellent web developer to convert this mock-up to html/wordpress. It took some time to find the right designer for the job. In this case I hired 'Luca A' (Whom you can search for through PPH) - who I could see was a talented designer with an eye for good interface design.

It was then a case of finding the right html/wordpress developer who could convert the psd to html and then to a wordpress website. Again, this took some time and many questions before I found the right person in Bhuwan.

THE ADVANTAGES OF USING PPH OVER HIRING A WEB COMPANY ARE:
• Costs less
• Using people specialised in their area of expertise - in this case a website designer and a website developer. I much prefer this over using 'jack of all trade' developers who can perform several task but do not excel in one particular area.
• Using pph instead of a company I found on the web meant I could guage their suitablity from their feedback as well as examples of their previous work.

THE DISADVANTAGE OF USING PPH WAS:
The amount of time it took to find the right people for the job. I am a perfectionist and am extremely fussy about who I employ. I have a history in interface design and am particular about what I want.

I would recommend you look at the people I hired, as it will save you all the time I spent finding them. Request examples to make sure they are right people for the job.

BHUWAN AS MY WEB DEVELOPER
This is what I would say about Bhuwan and why he turned out to be the right person for the job.

• From the examples he sent me I could see he was a talented web developer.
• He was polite, courteous and happy to help.
• He was happy to make any amendments until it was exactly what I wanted.
• Bhuwan had a skilled team of 6 people working for him and was fast at making these amendments.
• There wasn't anything he was unable to do. We communicated through email and Skype.
• His price was good.

I already have ideas on extra elements I want adding to my site, and will hire Bhuwan to develop these. Thankfully the time I spent looking for the right people paid off and I can now go to them when I need extra work doing. I only hope Bhuwan and Luca do not decide to leave PPH anytime soon.

I needed an html/css website construction from 2 psd's with a view to creating a responsive WordPress eCommerce website. Success of this part of the project meant I would request that Bhuwan also manage the conversion from html/css to Wordpress.

The conversion of psd's to html was very good, with good communication and design capabilities for elements that needed changing. As the work met my very high standards, I have since requested that Bhuwan do the full conversion of the html/css to WordPress.
