Area Covered: Anywhere in the UK
Work Experience Summary: I worked at the London Eye for 18 months, and after promotion to the sales team, wrote copy for the London Eye section of Tussauds\' monthly online trade newsletter, \'Attractions\'.
I worked as a researcher and writer at Chambers and Partners legal publisher for two years before being promoted to Assistant Editor (with special responsibility as an energy and natural resources sector specialist), a position I held for another 2 years until I left to become freelance in December 2009. During this time I wrote and edited copy, and mentored researchers in their editorial skills.
As a trustee of a theatre company, I wrote marketing copy for fundraising events.
I recently edited a novel for a budding author who was able to gain a prestigious agent with it.
Education Summary: I have 10 GCSEs (9 As, 1 C) and four A levels, including English (grade A). I gained a first class degree in English Literature at York University, graduating in 1995.
In 2005, I passed an Editorial and Proofreading course at the London School of Publishing with Merit (81%) and went on to work at a legal publisher for 4 years, where I developed my writing and editing skills further.
