I have dealt with various different clients e.g sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
Prior to this I had 25 years experience in accountancy, working for firms of accountants, public sector organisations and small commercial companies.
I became qualified in ACCA in 1995, and I feel this qualification has given me great opportunities.
Curious as it sounds I enjoy producing a set of accounts from books and records, and helping clients understand where their business is going. I am currently studying Taxation, so that I can become up-to-date in this field, and provide an even better service to clients.
Area Covered: Southampton and up to 30 miles outside Southampton. Prepared to travel to London on an occasional basis, as required.
Work Experience Summary: I have a lot of experience in double-entry bookkeeping using manual systems (i.e extended trial balance in Excel) and computerised systems using Sage Line50 and Sun Accounts. I have also done plenty of VAT returns, both manually and on-line. I have also prepared P11D returns for my previous employer and maintained a Fixed Asset register.
Education Summary: I am a qualified accountant (ACCA). I also have a B.Sc. honours degree in Maths and Economics from University of Warwick.
With regard to practical skills, I have used Excel to an advanced level (including look-up and pivot tables). I can also use Word proficiently. I have a very good command of English, both written and oral.
