Teacher of English, Senior Teacher, Director of Studies. I taught for three years at the English study centre, ultimately becoming the schools Director of Studies from January to July 2010. I taught a wide variety of age groups; from children to teens and adults, as well as a wide variety of levels, from beginner to advanced. I have experience of taking students through all the Cambridge exams, starters, movers, flyers KET, PET, FCE, CAE and CPE as well as IELTS and TOEIC . I also taught extensively in three local state schools, working with students from eight to eighteen. These lessons complemented the students’ curricular studies, and involved me planning and developing schemes of work after liaising with class teachers and the schools heads of department. As well as teaching groups ranging in size from eight to thirty, I also taught and planned one to one lessons in business and legal English. As a result I have experience of communicating with all ages and abilities and have the behavior, classroom and time management skills to deal with any situation which may arise.
As senior teacher I worked alongside the schools director of studies in planning and evaluating what was taught at the school, as well as writing and delivering presentations to the rest of the teaching staff. I worked as part of a large team of teachers, offering advice and assistance and sharing ideas regarding all aspects of teaching, from planning of lessons to time and classroom management, as well as observing lessons and providing both written and oral feedback. As director of studies my responsibilities incorporated everything involved in the successful running of a school; timetabling and organizing classes, liaising with parents and students, designing, evaluating and selecting resources and managing our team of teachers.
