I have an excellent knowledge of a wide range of AV equipment covering cameras, projection equipment, PA systems, mixing desks, lighting, LCD & Plasma screens and computer systems (PC & Mac)
I've worked on events of all kinds for over twelve years, starting out initially as a camera assistant filming concerts, progressing to the level of designing and building multi camera recording and projection systems at Wembley Arena, NEC and NIA, supervising the production crew and directing/vision mixing for the event. I've also used these skills in a broadcast environment, project managing and directing live TV shows throughout the UK and Europe.
I've worked on many conferences, exhibitions and events including filming for National Cancer Research Institute annual conference, Rosemary Conley Health And Fitness Roadshows and numerous corporate AGM's and large scale presentations.
With my natural aptitude for technology, my vast knowledge of AV equipment and my qualifications in Electrical & Electronic engineering I bring confidence, professionalism, reliability and the ability to solve problems under pressure to any production or event. I'm also passionate about health and safety having worked in hostile and dangerous environments for most of my working life.
Area Covered: Anywhere
Summary: I originally trained as an Electrical & Electronics Engineer and i spent several years working for companies such as Rover, Land Rover, Peugeot, JCB, Rolls Royce and Lucas maintaining and servicing production line systems. This is where i developed my skill for working under pressure as the assembly line contains both a high degree of physical danger from mechanical and electrical systems and also a high level of financial pressure to keep a £1/2m production line working. This involved either fixing systems quickly and efficiently or finding a short term solution to keep production flowing until a long term solution could be found.
For the past thirteen years i've worked in media production, initially as a camera operator for ITV and then covering several roles within broadcast studios, working in post production on internationally broadcast animation series and setting up my own company to provide a range of media services.
Throughout this time i've worked on a huge range of live events, from TV to concerts, conferences, exhibitions and AGM's. I have a natural ability with technology and have amassed considerable experience of a large range of AV systems including cameras, sound equipment, projection systems, lighting and IT. I'm at my best when immersed in technology and i thrive on putting together and operating systems to captivate, inform and entertain people.

Education Summary: My education covers many areas as i'm constantly learning new skills or improving current ones.
I originally trained as and electrical and electronics engineer, obtaining a BTEC first diploma, followed by a BTEC OND.
After several years working in a manufacturing and automotive environment, i felt the need to work in a creative field and embarked on a career in media production. Having obtained a couple of OCN qualifications to learn the essential skills i required for my new career, much of my education in this field is based around short training courses. I spent two weeks at BBC Wood Norton learning both production skills and the fundamentals of broadcast engineering and technology and i've attended several courses on health and safety. My most intensive training has been in post production, where i've trained on both Avid and Apple systems, obtaining Media Composer certification from Avid and Master Pro certification in the entire Apple Studio system, the highest level possible apart from certifying to teach the training course. I've also recently refreshed my electrical qualification by re-certifying to IEE 17th Edition Regulation standards for electrical installation to compliment my work as a gaffer and spark for TV and film.
