I am a quick worker who can get under the skin of a job very quickly. Communicative, articulate, helpful and patient.
Over 20 years experience design, artwork for print. Very strong on detail, use of style sheets. Very good print buyer. Front end web design. Also a highly competent photographer with all my own professional equipment and lighting.
Area Covered: UNITED KINGDOM
Industry: Graphic Design
Summary: I originally trained as an apprentice compositor which was at the top end of the print trade and covered typesetting, paste up and layout design for heavy weight science books for the big publishers. Part of the apprenticeship involved one week a month covering theory and design at an Art College. This led me out of book work and into graphic design. In the late 80s I got my first job in a design agency. They struggled in the recession of that time but saw my potential and suggested I would do well at my own business. I started this in 1991 and have been self employed ever since.
Job Title: owner/manager
Description: Freelance designer art worker and photographer. Print buying, some copy writing and sales skills too.
Education Summary: I started out as an apprentice compositor (art worker typesetter in modern parlance) just as the world was turning digital. As an apprentice I used to go to art college on block release where we studied design and theory. This led me away from educational book work into design agencies and freelancing.
