I have an interest in international and national social, education and health policy; I am educated to master level and have completed a number of research related qualifications including: qualitative and quantitative, and market research-, as well as business writing skills. I have written, edited and translated a variety of articles and consultancy reports based on my research work in areas covering public health, social and health policy, public management, research governance, culture and education, and published them in peer-reviewed journals and grey literature. I translate from English to German, and German to English.

Job Title: Senior Research Manager
Company: Museums, Libraries and Archives Council
Description: I successfully fulfilled a Primary and Secondary Research Function at MLA: I oversaw and delivered a number of research and evaluation projects from inception to final delivery, including its dissemination through written summaries and verbal presentations.
Based on my own research, I delivered written work to promote MLA research evidence: I have written articles and published them in peer reviewed journals (CILIP ,JoSI) based on MLA commissioned research for example on health and well-being in libraries. I have also written briefings and think pieces on partnership development, health and well-being and volunteering in the cultural sector.
I provided expert advice on research and evaluation issues: A large amount of time was spent on providing expert advice on research and evaluation-related queries to sector organisations and policy colleagues.
Partnership working: I distributed and facilitated debate about existing research tools with partner organisations like A&B and BIG Lottery Fund.
Job Title: Senior Social Researcher and Manager

Description: - I gave methodological advice on study design in commissioning local government research and evaluation projects.
Communities and Local Government Department:
- I was responsible for writing research specifications, advising on appropriate evaluation methods, liaising with policy colleagues and external stakeholders (e.g. academics and community sector organisations)as well as
- managing administrative aspects of contractual agreements; and
- editing and publishing research reports.
- I managed the research process on specific research and evaluation projects, i.e. from the point of formulating requirements to communicating the findings to relevant audiences.
- I gave methodological advice to policy teams who were in the initial stages of specifying their research/evaluation need, for example for product or policy evaluations or for strategic purposes.
- I provided quality assurance for both quantitative and qualitative studies; and played a role in liaising between external stakeholder groups and the internal policy teams in order ensure results had an impact on policy developments.

Description: I worked as a policy analyst for the Health and Society Programme at RAND Europe, gaining consulting experience with a variety of national and international senior government stakeholders and policymakers. My role entailed writing proposals and research reports on a range of health and science policy related topics, using a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods, collating and analysing data, working with customers, participating on collaborative projects and using language skills professionally.
Job Title: Research Fellow
Company: Health Services Research Unit
Description: I worked as a research fellow in the Health Services Research Unit at the University of Aberdeen, and examined the criteria and methods for the assessment of public involvement in health service delivery. I conducted a systematic literature review (using online medical resources e.g. Ovid, Pub Med, etc.) and interviews and workshops, collated and analysed qualitative and quantitative data, and wrote a report and article to summarise the research findings; I also presented the findings at Aberdeen's international conference: 'Speaking Truth to Power'. In addition, taught one module on qualitative methods as part of the MSc in Public Health.
Skills and experience gained: research and analysis skills, writing skills, project management skills, presentation skills, teaching skills; and IT skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).

Company: MLA/BIG Lottery Partnership project
Description: I assisted the BIG Lottery Fund in creating content for their conference 'Measuring success' on the subject of existing research tools (both quantitative e.g. Social Return on Investment; and Qualitative Generic Social Outcomes tool) and wrote and gave a presentation, as well as facilitated a discussion about the application and value of different tools as they are currently applied in the cultural sector.

Description: I worked at Datamonitor as an analyst, writing research reports for the women"s health care and endocrinology business units. This involved: researching and analysing disease trends in different population groups, pharmaceutical products and changes in the international regulatory healthcare environment.
