In 2001 I decided to go freelance with a view to offering practical marketing support to growing businesses with developing brands. This has given me the opportunity to work across a variety of sectors including food and drink, sport and leisure, visitor attractions and charities.
Some organisations take me on to help them put together a strategic marketing plan. They may then keep me on to help them deliver some or all of it. Other clients simply want a one-off project seen through to completion. This can include anything from developing a new brand identity, launching a new product, raising the profile in a new market or writing a brochure. Whatever the requirement, I am flexible and responsive according to the needs of the client.

Work Experience Summary: The Northumberland Cheese Company - initially appointed to carry out a strategic marketing review which led on to developing a marketing plan for them. I then took on specific projects such as repositioning and relaunching a product range, carrying out customer surveys and analysis, producing regular newsletters.
Musselburgh Racecourse - Appointed to develop and implement a marketing plan which would increase attendance. Through a programme of advertising and promotions, we raised awareness of the racecourse, improved the profile of selected race days, increased visitor numbers by 11% and raised profitability signficantly.
House Call Care Ltd - Developed a brand identity to support expansion and enhance communication
Yester Farm Dairies - Developed a direct mail campaign to increase customer base in Edinburgh area. Rolled this out to Borders and Northumberland at later stages.
Luffness Mains Growers - Managed the development of a brand identity and then their web content.
