On the training side, I have experience in delivering training in Java software development, Microsoft word, access and excel to an advanced level.
I taught Java programming and website development at a local college. I designed course material, including lesson plans, handouts, tests and assignments as part of student assessment. I provided guidance to students, and resolved programming errors. I supervised student projects, which involved approving project proposals and conducting supervisory meetings to monitor their progress.
I have experience of teaching higher education students, having worked at a local university as a demonstrator for an Information Management course. I helped students to utilise E-learning software and complete practical assignments in MS Word, Excel and Access. I explained techniques and demonstrated how to use functions of the various applications in MS Office. I also conducted vivas as part of student assessment.
My recent work experience has been in information and data analysis. My most recent role at housing association consisted of maintaining the housing and asset management systems and ensuring information was recorded correctly, enabling accurate performance and budget reporting for internal and external audits using Business Objects.
My role at another local university required me to use various data systems. I accessed and maintained the student database on a daily basis. In addition, I was solely responsible for the maintenance of programme information on the academic database for art and design. I used iCapella and MIS reporting software to produce reports for programme assessment and programme management meetings. I also prepared monthly statistical reports to monitor student enrolment, retention and progression
In addition I have excellent written English skills. I worked on a local regeneration project and created a robust report highlighting the results of public consultation. I carried out a significant amount of research and public consultation and used this as the basis of my report. I input the data I collected into Excel and performed data manipulation to ascertain relationships between the data and presented my findings graphically. On completing a regeneration report for Belgrave Association I was required to present my findings in a clear and concise way in order to meet the diverse target audience.Part of my role at Belgrave Association was to organise and arrange a consultation exhibition at the Belgrave Mela. This involved displaying design boards illustrating the regeneration proposals, preparing promotional material, posters, leaflets and user-friendly questionnaires. I also designed and created a PowerPoint presentation which was projected during the event. As a result I was able to interact with residents from a diverse community and obtain their views about the regeneration project.
I have a diversity of experience as I spent a gap year working and travelling in Canada. This has enabled me to acquire distinctive skills and knowledge.
I am creative, innovative and can work independently using my initiative. I have excellent problem solving skills and my work is accurate and of a high standard.
