Abiding by the aforementioned quote is not a bed of roses, for there have been discouragement, hectic schedules and the typical ‘writer’s block.’ Yes, I dread the writer’s block.
Dubbed at birth as Samantha Williams, I thereafter assumed the name Burris due to marriage. As a prolific writer, my aspiration is to peruse the Internet for the perfect writing opportunity (maybe not so perfect), one that’ll absorb my expenses. With a vehement appetite for flexibility and liberty, I’ve ventured into various aspects of Internet Marketing, just to elude employment within a physical organization. Subsequently, my ambition is to delve deeper into Affiliate Marketing, create blogs to assist people in various aspects of life, and self-publish books, e-books and others. To attain that dream, I have to start somewhere.
I’ve never received a degree in writing or communication. In fact, while weathering the storm at school, computers were my delight. I frolicked with them endlessly. That fervent passion incited me to pursue a degree in Management Information Systems (MIS). Vigorous labour and zest for the art of coding led me to graduate as the ‘most outstanding performer’ on two campuses. I take no delight in bragging but such accomplishments gave me the oomph needed to pursue what I loved.
Then there came writing…
For years I’ve been in my thoughts and books, putting pen to paper. I’ve written many poetic pieces but only had the courage to share with friends… never family and the world at large. Today, I’m taking huge strides and I’m opening to the world, allowing my imagination to run wild and my daring expressions to surpass the heavens. Yes, with continued work, persistence and the ruthless determination to attain my aspirations, I’ll definitely see the light… someday… one day.
