The recent acquisition of my BA Honours serves as a testimony to my abilities, and has offered me a chance to gain a larger commercial awareness.
Aware and informed with regards to trends and the high street, and a genuine passion for any aspect of the fashion industry, I possess a keen eye for detail.
My handwriting as a designer is very feminine, although I am confident in my abilities and scope for adaptability. With this in mind; I gained the title of best collection at the 2010 graduate catwalk show.
Area Covered: Womenswear design, Pattern Cutter, Seamstress
Summary: I have worked within the garment industry in one guise or another since leaving school. From flatbed machinist on the factory row for Jaques Vert, to assistant cutter for a bridal wear manufacturer. I have worked as a freelance costume designer/maker for a local dance school gaining accolades for my tutu's, and was handpicked to create the wedding outfits for a local radio D.J. After successfully running my own business for a number of years, an unreasonable tenancy renewal agreement forced the closure of my shop. I returned to education in 2007 with the intention of becoming a teacher. Since qualifying in June of last year, I have found myself being kept busy with private requests from past customers and friends. I have recently secured myself a position within the costume department of the Theatre Royal in Plymouth. This is a notoriously difficult position to secure, as places do not become available often.
