This involves the continued ongoing support and maintenance for existing Devices, as well as supporting Departments who may wish to introduce Point of Care to improve the Patients experience.
I also have an extensive role in the training of users who may operate the Devices. This includes organising, and providing initial training to new users, from HealthCare Assistants, to Midwives and Consultants.
Over the past year, I have been heavily involved in the planning and production of e-Learning Courses specifically designed for Point of Care Devices. These courses have been designed with “Competency” training in mind. I have successfully set up the courses to link into the POC Data Management System, which has provided us with a live interface from the Learning Management System (Cobas Academy) and Data Management System (Cobas IT1000). Result? “Hands off” involvement from the Point of Care Testing Team. This has now been recognised by the Trust, who envisage using our experience in implementing e-Learning Courses for other Medical Devices.
I have extensive knowledge across much of Roche’s portfolio of Point of Care Devices (Inform II, Performa, b221, b123, CoaguChek), coupled with experience on interfacing other devices into Cobas IT1000, such as the Siemens DCA HbA1c Vantage Analysers & Radiometers Hemocue Haemoglobin Analysers.
I have also successfully Project Managed and Implemented a wireless temperature monitoring system within Point of Care in accordance to UKAS ISO 17025 Standards.
