Recently I have also completed an internship with GQ magazine at Vogue House in London.
I have spent a significant amount of time too, since my graduation and NCTJ course, working on local newspapers, within the North West. I spent four months with The Oldham Chronicle, were I worked closely with the papers news editor Mike Attenborough, who helped me develop the necessary skills needed to be successful in the newsroom of a local newspaper. As well as writing many articles for the paper I also completed two features on the large impact the recession had on the town.
Recently I have also devoted a lot of time to writing for magazines, reveling in the creative freedom these publications allow writers. I have conducted numerous interviews with classical musicians for Muso magazine, a classical music publication based in Manchester. As well as this I have also written numerous features for Flux Magazine, an arts, fashion and culture magazine again based in Manchester. My first feature for them was on the British independent film \"White Lightnin\", for which I interviewed the director and cast. This piece has also been recently used by the renowned Swedish film magazine Film International, as was another feature written for Flux, on the Nigerian film industry.
