I am skilled at developing and leading marketing and communications functions of all sizes, providing strategic direction in order to drive sales, customer focus and profitability across the business. This includes defining and executing multi-channel marketing strategies targeting new clients but also developing existing customers and maximising customer retention, combined with strong stakeholder skills. I have a proven track record of managing and developing sales and marketing teams whilst optimising budgets and profitability.
After studying a Masters degree in economics, I began my career in commercial research and economics before embarking on a career in general marketing. During this time I have experienced working with start-ups, owner managed businesses, UK PLC’s and global brands, including organisations going through change.
I have significant knowledge of consumer and business to business marketing techniques and have a real desire to drive a strategy but equally roll my sleeves up and assist with the tactical execution. Working cross functionally I am a leader who can really drive the business forward and create stakeholder value.
In 2007 I won the “Young Professional of the Year – Communications” award. I am a trustee and vice-chair of a local charity, a school governor and a member of the Institute of Equality and Diversity Practitioners.
In 2008 I set up The Marketing Junction (a professional services, B2B and charity marketing agency) and in 2014 I established GKS Associates - a marketing business solely focussed on the recruitment sector.
